Nepal – May 2007
Annapurna Partial Circuit, 5th – 18th May 2007
Trekking in the Himalayas has always had a special allure to me. Having done a 6 day camping and trekking trip in the Himachal Himalayas opposite the Kailash Manimahesh range, I got restless this year for more Himalayas… happily for me, Manisha, whom I first met in the Himachal trek in 2005, was also thinking of a trek with her friend Shiva. We joined forces and after a chance mention of this to my friend Nitya, she too signed up. For Nitya and me, it involved working out a fair amount of logistics at home for our two kids each. All that sorted, we were ready for the trip: four girls… or women… or aunties… or whatever you want to call us.
Here is a day-by-day account of our 14 days spent together in Nepal: trekking, sight-seeing, shopping, kayaking, and white-water rafting… hope you will enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it!
